| Click Here to view our 2007 Homecoming Photo Album! Genoa is made up of shops, homes, churches, commercial and industrial businesses. The 600 block of Main Street is on the Registry of Historic Places. It is a great shopping experience whether you are a resident or visitor. The pottery shop has sold items to the Bush family, the Clinton family and the Queen of Jordan. She specializes in delightful and colorful Majolica pottery. There is a whimsical garden shop, two fine decorating shops, a jewelry store, a collector's shop and more shops on St. Rt. 51. There you will find a new state of the art Chevrolet dealership and a Ford dealership. And, don't forget to enjoy a leisurely lunch at a great price at one of our many restaurants. If you love history, you will find some gems here. The Town Hall, Opera House (above) and The Little Privy are on the National Historic Registry. The GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) post, also on the Registry, is currently being restored, and is one of 7 left out of 725 used before and after the Civil War. There is a fireman's memorial outside of the Town Hall. The Lourdes Grotto, built in 1933, is known and loved by many. Don't miss Veterans' Memorial Park. A war memorial is there as well as playgrounds, shelter houses, quarry swimming, sports areas, nature trail, etc. The Village of Genoa, located in the southwestern corner of Ottawa County, is easy to find using St. Rt. 163 (east by west) or St. Rt. 51 (north-west by south-east). They intersect just outside of Genoa . Exchanges to the Ohio Turnpike and Interstate 75 are only minutes away. The scenic Lake Erie shoreline runs the entire length of Ottawa County on the north and Genoa is only minutes from many tourist destinations. Our area is terrific, the schools are rated very well, the people are friendly and we welcome you to visit us. The hospitality of Genoa offers a great place to spend a day or a lifetime. |
