Current mood: impressed Category: Romance and Relationships To Love, we need not agree   Though it is essential for our well being that we please others, this must never be our prime purpose. It is impossible for anyone to please everyone all of the time. Still trying to do so can become an obsession in which we begin to measure our worth in terms of how many people approve of us. It is only when we have enough respect for our own uniqueness that we assert ourselves without the fear of rejection. Part of our uniqueness is our diversity of opinions, our own way of looking at the world. If we encounter those who do not accept this, all is not lost. It is possible for mature adults to disagree completely and still love. In fact, a loving relationship need not be an agreeing one. Disagreements can actually enhance a relationship.
